First Sunday after Pentecost – The Sunday of All Saints – Tone Eight
Resurrectional Troparion, Tone 8.
From on high didst Thou descend, O Merciful One; Thou didst accept burial for three days, that Thou mightest free us from the passions. O our Life and Resurrection, glory to Thee.
Glory.
Troparion of All Saints, Tone 4.
Adorned in the blood of Thy martyrs throughout all the world as in purple and fine linen, Thy Church doth cry unto Thee through them, O Christ God: Send down Thy bounties upon Thy people; grant peace to Thy city, and to our souls great mercy.
Now and ever.
Kontakion of All Saints, Tone 8.
As first-fruits of our nature the universe offereth to Thee the God-bearing martyrs, O Lord and Maker of creation. By their prayers, and those of the Theotokos, do Thou keep Thy Church and Thy city in complete peace, O Thou Who alone art greatly merciful.
Prokimen, Tone 8.
Psalm 75:12a, 2.
Vow ye: and pay to the Lord your God.

The Lesson of the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Hebrews.
Hebrews §330 (11:33-12:2a).
Brethren: All the saints by faith conquered kingdoms, wrought justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered strength from weakness, became valiant in battle, put to flight the armies of foreigners: women received their dead raised to life again. But others were racked, not accepting deliverance, that they might find a better resurrection. And others had trial of mockeries and stripes, moreover also of bands and prisons. They were stoned, they were cut asunder, they were tempted, they were put to death by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being in want, distressed, afflicted: of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, in mountains, and in dens, and in caves of the earth. And all these being approved by the testimony of faith, received not the promise; God providing some better thing for us, that they should not be perfected without us. And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us: looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith.
Alleluia, Tone 4.
Psalm 33:18, 20.
Alleluia.
Verse 1: The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.
Alleluia.
Verse 2: Many are the afflictions of the just: but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
The Lesson of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew.
Saint Matthew §38 (10:32-33, 37-38; 19:27-30).
The Lord said to His disciples: Every one therefore that shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father Who is in heaven. But he that shall deny Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father Who is in heaven. He that loveth father or mother more than Me, is not worthy of Me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me. And he that taketh not up his cross, and followeth Me, is not worthy of Me. Then Peter answering, said to Him: Behold we have left all things, and have followed Thee: what therefore shall we have? And Jesus said to them: Amen, I say to you, that you, who have followed Me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of His majesty, you also shall sit on twelve seats judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for My name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting. And many that are first, shall be last: and the last shall be first.
Communion.
Psalm 148:1; 32:1.
Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise ye Him in the high places.
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
