O Christ God, Who by Thy birth hast sanctified the virginal womb and blessed, as was meet, the hands of Simeon, hast anticipated and now saved us; do Thou, O Lover of mankind, preserve Thine estate from wars and strengthen the government that has found favour before Thee.

I am tortured for Thy sake, that I may reign with Thee; I die having hope in Thee that I may live with Thee. Accept me, then, as a spotless sacrifice which is offered to Thee with love. Thou didst destroy the darkness of the idols, and didst dispel the fog of passion and sickness by the radiance of healing. Thou didst assemble a troop of twelve valiant contenders, O most excellent Pamphilus. They formed a divine regiment, which trampled down the enemy, and in various ways they were taken tot he Lord. Pray to Him for our souls.

Great are the achievements of faith! In the fountain of flame, as if in refreshing water, the holy martyr Theodore rejoiced. Burnt by the fire, he was offered as sweet bread to the Trinity. By his prayers, O Christ our God, save our souls.
