Saturday in the Sixteenth Week after Pentecost

The Lesson of the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Corinthians.
I Corinthians §146 (10:23-28).
Brethren: All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify. Let no man seek his own, but that which is another’s. Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat; asking no question for conscience’ sake. The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof. If any of them that believe not, invite you, and you will be willing to go; eat of any thing that is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. But if any man say: This has been sacrificed to idols, do not eat of it for his sake that told it, and for conscience’ sake.

The Lesson of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew.
Saint Matthew §101 (24:34-44).
The Lord said to His disciples: Amen I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass, but My words shall not pass. But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone. And as in the days of Noe, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark, and they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be. Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill: one shall be taken, and one shall be left. Watch ye therefore, because ye know not what hour your Lord will come. But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open. Wherefore be you also ready, because at what hour you know not the Son of man will come.
