Spiritual Communion

A FORM OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

I believe, O Lord, and I confess that Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God, Who didst come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Although I cannot now be a partaker of Thy Mystical Supper, O Son of God, come Thou at least spiritually into my heart by Thy Divine Grace for the healing of my soul and body.

Wherefore I pray Thee: Have mercy on me and forgive me, and absolve my transgressions, voluntary and involuntary, whether in word or deed, with knowledge or in ignorance, whether in mind or thought. And count me worthy to receive Thee spiritually; for blessed art Thou unto the ages, Amen.

For I will not speak of Thy Mystery to Thine enemies, nor like Judas will I give Thee a kiss, but like the thief I cry unto Thee in confession:

Remember me, O Lord, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom.
Remember me, O Master, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom.
Remember me, O Holy One, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom.

O Lord, I believe and profess that which I would receive, and which is now here present with us in Mystery, is truly Thy most precious Body, and Thy life-giving Blood. May I one day partake of Thy Mystical Supper again for the remission of all my sins and for life everlasting. Amen.

O Master and Lord, Who lovest mankind, let not the communion of Thine Holy Mysteries be to my condemnation, but rather unto the cleansing and sanctification of soul and body, and unto the acquisition of the life and kingdom to come. For blessed art Thou unto the ages, Amen.

God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
Thou hast created me, Lord; have mercy on me.
I have sinned immeasurably; Lord have mercy on me and forgive me, a sinner.
