The Lesson of the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to Timothy.
II Timothy §297 (3:16-4:4).
My son Timothy: All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice, that the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work. I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, Who shall judge the living and the dead, by His coming, and His kingdom: Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: and will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.
The Lesson of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke.
Saint Luke §98 (19:45-48).
At that time: Jesus entering into the temple, He began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought. Saying to them: It is written: My house is the house of prayer. But you have made it a den of thieves. And He was teaching daily in the temple. And the chief priests and the scribes and the rulers of the people sought to destroy Him: and they found not what to do to Him: for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.
