Saturday in the Twenty-Sixth Week after Pentecost

The Lesson of the Epistle of the Holy Apostle Paul to the Galatians.
Galatians §205 (3:8-12).
Brethren: The Scripture, foreseeing that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed. Therefore they that are of faith shall be blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one that abideth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith. But the law is not of faith: but he that doth those things shall live in them.

The Lesson of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke.
Saint Luke §49 (9:57-62).
At that time: As Jesus walked in the way, a certain man said to Him: I will follow Thee whithersoever Thou goest. Jesus said to him: The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head. But He said to another: Follow Me. And he said: Lord, suffer me first to go, and to bury my father. And Jesus said to him: Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou, and preach the kingdom of God. And another said: I will follow Thee, Lord; but let me first take my leave of them that are at my house. Jesus said to him: No man putting his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
